Welcome to Fort Worth After School!

  • Fort Worth After School (FWAS) is celebrating 20 plus years of successful, high level enrichment programs!   Since program inception in the Fall of 2000, FWAS has provided high quality, structured after school enrichment programs primarily for students in grades 3 - 8.

FWAS adds five middle school and five high school sites for the 2021-2022 school year.   This was made possible through a newly awarded 21St Century Community Learnig Center grant!

Originally serving 52 sites with approximately 2,300 daily participants, FWAS has grown to 86 sites and serves approximately 6,000 plus students on a daily basis. FWAS participating sites include General (ÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ«/ CFW) funded and 21st Century Afterschool Center on Education (A.C.E.) funded sites through Clayton Youth Services.

Fort Worth After School is a collaboration of Fort Worth ISD and the City of Fort Worth with generous contributions from the Rainwater Charitable Foundation and the Just Keep Livin Foundation.

Please contact the FWAS office to see how you can be a part of one or all of our creative endeavors such as:

    • Road Warrior - Think Soapbox Derby.   Students build cars from re-purposed material at Derby Downs Park in early Spring.
    • Recycled Art project - exactly what it sounds like!  Art made of recycled or re-purposed material.  Students create the most amazing works of art!
    • Expressions that Move You - Collaboration with Trinity Metro.  Winning art that imagines transportation in the future is prominently displayed in buses and on benches at stops.
    • Boat Regatta - Help build boats out of cardboard, glue and tape!  Then, come join us as we race them at Hurricane Harbor!  Yes....they do eventually fall apart and we sink but until after we have had a blast!

FWAS has provided a wealth of learning opportunities over the course of the last 20 years!  We are proud of what we have accomplished and look forward to bringing more diverse and rewarding programs to our students!
