FAMILY ACTION CENTER-EAST  STEPS UP FOR THE COMMUNITY

The Family Action Center-East team (FAC-E) has been very active sharing information about support services and the District’s aggressive online education initiative with east Fort Worth families.  As many local organizations have stepped up each week to supplement ÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ´óÈ«’s ongoing work, our team has continually shared those opportunities on social
media, and have personally volunteered at many of them. This includes food and household goods distributions and well-being checks at schools, community centers, YMCAs, learning centers and churches. The FAC-E team also
continues to spread the word about important services such as the expansion of SNAP benefits, Fort Worth Housing Solution vouchers, eligibility for economic impact payments, job fairs, and rent & bill assistance. We are also informing and urging families to contact schools, obtain technology and get connected to online learning.  Several staff members have assisted with free lunch and breakfast distributions at Eastern Hills and Dunbar high schools, Morningside ES and Atwood-McDonald ES. We assisted TCU Coach Gary Patterson’s Foundation and Fort Worth SPARC with the assembly and distribution of 500 student activity bags at Como ES, Polytechnic HS and Eastern Hills HS.  Groups interested in partnering with East side families or anyone in need of assistance may contact Carlos.Walker@fwisd.org or Charles.Hodges@fwisd.org.
