Mr. Martinez

My name is Francisco Martinez and I have the opportunity and pleasure to service your student/s in my Gifted and Talented classroom.  I will be pulling your Gifted and Talented students and also you Talent Pool students on Wednesdays.  I am writing you this letter to introduce myself.

I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas graduating from Polytechnic High School.  I continued my education at Texas Wesleyan University, where I received my undergraduate degree in Bilingual Education.  I then went on and pursued my graduate degree from Concordia University in Austin, Texas. My experience as an educator includes 16 years in the classroom.  I have worked as a teacher assistant for 3 years, in early childhood education for 8 years, and in 3rd and 4th grade for 4 years all at D. McRae Elementary in East Fort Worth.  This is my second year working as a GT pullout teacher.

In our GT pullout class, your student will have the opportunity to experience cross-curricular project- based learning while developing 21st Century skills, like research and hands-on product building, where they take risks and learn from their mistakes.  Your student/s will have opportunities to work collaboratively and will learn to be self-directed in their learning, while completing projects that include everything from technology to hands-on product building.  Throughout the year you might hear your student wanting to bring materials from home such as a shoebox, plastic wheels, or random materials that they might want to use on their project for my class.  If this happens, remind them that I only come on Wednesdays and they can bring them that day.  Thank you for your attention and support and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
