Hello and welcome to Western Hills Elementary! My name is Matthew Simms. I will be your 5th grade Science teacher. I graduated from The University of North Texas with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and with a Master's degree in Music Performance from The University of Texas at Arlington. I am certified to teach 4th - 8th grade general education. I am excite about seeing all the new and returning students, along with all the growth we will do this year. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, playing trumpet, and playing video games.

Morgan Haywood was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She attended Texas Tech University where she received a bachelor's degree in public relations and a minor in English. She has worked with kindergarten through 7th grade for the past 10 years. This is her 6th year in Fort Worth ISD and her 1st year at Western Hills.

Hi and welcome to Western Hills Elementary School! My name is Dedra Watt and I’m going to be your 2nd Grade Teacher. I am a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Southern University at New Orleans, Louisiana and a Master’s Degree in Education from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Hello, my name is Roy Valadez. I will be the 2nd grade bilingual Math and Science teacher at Western Hills. My name is Julie Trokey. I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. I received my undergraduate degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri- Columbia and my graduate degree in elementary education at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. I have over 20 years’ experience teaching in the primary grades in Title 1 schools. This is my first-year teaching in Fort Worth ISD and I am excited to be a part of the Western Hills Family!
