UIL Academics

  • UIL academics is a series of academic competitions in Texas designed to promote higher-order thinking, skill refinement, and college and career readiness.  Students practice frequently to prepare for the District, Regional and State competitions.  Success in UIL competitions can lead to opportunities for college scholarships and for career internships.  At MCCHS, students compete in Calculator Applications, Math, Number Sense, Science, Ready Writing, Poetry and Prose Interpretation, Essay Contests, Short Film Contests, Spelling & Vocabulary, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Persuasive and Informative Speeking, and Current Issues & Events.
