Dear Terrell Parents, Guardians, and Stakeholders, 

Welcome to the I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM & Visual Performing Arts. The staff and I are grateful for the opportunity to help mold your child’s educational experience with you. I am the proud principal of I.M. Terrell Academy, and I am honored to have this opportunity serve you and your child. We offer a rigorous academic environment that will provide your child with classes focused on STEM, Visual and Performing Arts and the Humanities. All of these classes are offered at the honors and AP level.  We are very excited for the productive partnerships with you, our parents and stakeholders to ensure that our children are achieving at their highest potential. We also recognize that in order to be successful in school our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she: 

1. Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experiences
2. Completes all homework and assignments given by their teachers 
3. Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills 
4. Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
5. Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject 
6. Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to college 

I.M. Terrell staff members are not just in the business of educating your child, but we are also here to develop and nurture their artistic talents, challenge, motivate, and inspire them to be creative thinkers and innovative problem solvers.  Our apprentices will go on to transform their neighborhoods, communities, and city and eventually the global landscape for generations to come. 

At I.M. Terrell Academy, our faculty and staff are some of the most dedicated, highly motivated group of educators that care about each child’s social, emotional, physical and mental well-being. We believe in ensuring that the whole child is being educated and nurtured. 

At Terrell Academy, we are investing in the future by constantly exposing and providing our apprentices with unique learning experiences and opportunities that will allow them to tap into their passions so they can become the global landscape changers for generations to come.
