Emotional Support Team

DMS Parents ~

As you know, a student and her family experienced a traumatic event recently; an event that encompassed the efforts of law enforcement, neighboring communities and citizens.

Beginning Monday, May 20 we will have a team of school counselors and psychologists on campus to provide emotional support to students, staff, and parents as needed  Such support will continue as long as necessary.  Moving into the summer, we will post information and resources for our families to take advantage of as needed.  We're coordinating with the district to collect that information now.

Helpful tips for parents in speaking with students about traumatic events can be found below.  Please watch for signs of distress in your child and yourself and please do not hesitate to contact our campus with any questions or concerns.
