I was born in the Dominican Republic. I graduated from Concordia College with a Bachelor in Health Care Administration and then from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee with a degree in Bilingual Education. I have been in MH Moore since 2006, where I have been teaching Pre-Kinder since 2012.

I have been married since 1984 (Mr. Castillo is a Math teacher at Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School). I have a son; Jonathan (my elder son passed from Covid 19 in 2021), a granddaughter, Eliana (3 years old) and two grandsons (Jeremy, 19 and Diego Armando, born in August 2022).

My interests include painting (I have been painting since I was 12) and traveling. On my last vacation, I had the exciting opportunity of traveling to Italy (Venice), Croatia, Greece (Santorini, Crete and Athens) and Turkey (Kusadashi, and Istanbul).

My name is Juana Carrillo, Olivas after my husband’s name. I was born in Chihuahua, Mx. I received my degree from La Normal Superior in the same city. I received my degree in Elementary Education focused on psychopedagogy. Since graduation, I have strived to become the best teacher I could be for my future students. I worked as a teacher for over 20 years in the same city and I received awards in academia. 

My family and I moved to this country and I had the opportunity to continue working on my passion; education. I’m happy to work in schools and now with pre-k. I have the blessing of having a beautiful family. My hobby is reading/writing and I am currently writing a book in my free time.

Hello! I am Mrs. Smith formally Ms. H. I am on my 7th year of teaching Pre-K at MH Moore and my 12th year as a certified teacher. I have been working with kids since I was 12. ( I am much older than I look) Once your child comes through my door they are my child for life! I have loved watching the Pre-K kids I have had in the years pass grow and flourish!

I am a Texas Tech Alumni. I love to travel with my husband and my son, who will be 21 soon. I also really love old time pickup trucks!

Hello, My name is Leticia Miranda. I am from Chicago. When I was 15 years old, my family moved to California, and we lived there for 15 years. In California, I worked for the District for 2 years, monitoring kids in school. I have been married for 15 years. I have 3 girls and one boy. My daughters are 15,12,and 8 and my son is 2 years old. I’m a Bible school teacher and I have been teaching since I was 15 years old. I like to teach and work with children of all ages.

Hello, my name is Gary Mendizábal, I was born in Bolivia, South America. I graduated from East Texas Baptist University with a double major, business administration and Spanish Bilingual education. I also completed studies at SFA (Stephen F. Austin) University. I have been in Education related jobs for more than 30 years and in early childhood education for the last 15 plus years. 

I'm happily married to my lovely wife and have 3 children that are college-bound. Some of my interests and hobbies are playing simulation Games, VR Technology, eating exotic food and travelling. Some of the places I had the pleasure of visiting are Brazil, Bolivia, Spain, England, France, Italy, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Gibraltar.

Working as an educator is a wonderful way to serve and I feel privileged and grateful to be serving at MH Moore Elementary.

My name is Maria E. Gonzalez. Of Venezuelan Nationality, I graduated from the Universidad Experimental Libertador (Pedagogical) as a teacher of Preschool Education. I am dedicated to education with more than 25 years of experience and the ability to multi-task and monitor safety, progress and growth while teaching fun and educational classes.I have knowledge of numerous learning methods, aimed at preschool children, among others.  As a hobby, I really like to read, play sports outdoors, and enjoy my beautiful family to the fullest.
