Hello! My name is Maria Leon. I was born in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. My family and I moved to the United States when I was 11 years old. I graduated from Tarleton State University.I am the oldest out of four. During my free time I love spending time with my beautiful son Ezekiel , reading and going to the movies. I fell in love with education from a very young age. I wanted to be able to make a difference in my students' lives just like many educators did for me.

Mrs. Williams has been a Pre-K Teacher at Sunrise McMillan Elementary School for 27 years.

She went to school in Fort Worth, Texas, attending G.W. Carver Elementary (no longer open), Earnest Parker Middle School (no longer open), and graduating from Eastern Hills High School in 1979. (This school is still open)!

She attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and graduated with a B.A. Degree in 1983. 

Mrs. Williams received her Master’s Degree from Texas Christian University, located right here in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1987.

She has been married for 32 years and has a beautiful 28-year-old daughter. 

Mrs. Williams loves teaching and loves little learners. Her favorite quote is “Teachers who love children teach children who love learning.”
