In 1959 Handley High School was closed to relieve the crowded conditions at Handley and Polytechnic High Schools.  The first year, Eastern Hills had 600 students who chose the traditions that would become a part of Eastern Hills to this day.  The name Highlander was chosen by a secret ballot as were the school colors, blue, gray, and white.  The first principal of Eastern Hills was Roy C. Johnson who served the District until he retired in 1975.

Superintendent Kent Scribner enjoys a bus ride with the Class of 2017 on their way to visit schools on their Senior Walk.

Former 六合彩资料大全 Superintendent Dr. Kent Scribner rides the bus with graduating seniors during the traditional Senior Walk through the hallways of the elementary and middle schools that feed into EHHS. This tradition, started in 2016, was the first in the District to include all schools within a high school's attendance zone. It serves as a moment of reflection for the seniors as role models for younger students, as well as a moment of aspiration for the students who one day hope to graduate themselves.

As of the start of the 2023 school year, 1,200 students are enrolled in 9th through 12th grades on the beautiful rolling hillsides of Eastern Hills High School.  In the last few years, a synthetic turf field, new library, expanded cafeteria, new fieldhouse, a new counseling center and much more has been added to support the growing needs of today's Highlanders.  The girls' softball field stands where what once was a student parking lot on the southeast side of campus. The original natatorium (swimming pool) was replaced over a decade ago with the athletic weight training facility and is now the new field house.
