Ms. Safiyyah Omar has been named Teacher of the Year 2018, for the Leadership Academy at Maude I Logan Elementary.  She is the 5th Grade Science teacher here at Logan Elementary School.  Logan has had some academic challenges but you couldn't tell if you talked to Ms. Omar's students.  Students have been striving in her class all school year.  The key to Ms. Omar's success is that she has formed a positive and respectful relationship with her students.  This has fostered a yearning for learning with her 5th Graders that has been well documented on their recent benchmark exams and from years passed.
